Why Open Lifts
A resort's season-opening date tells you almost nothing about how much of the mountain will actually be running on the specific week you can travel. Snowmaking coverage, altitude, glacier access and school-holiday crowding all move independently of that one published date — and none of it is collected anywhere in a form you can actually compare across resorts.
Open Lifts starts from the boring part: a correct, current catalog of what each resort operates — its lifts, its pistes, its sectors. Everything else this product is meant to do — tracking what's actually open, forecasting a given week, comparing resorts on more than marketing copy — has to be built on top of that catalog being right first, and none of it ships until the data behind it is real.
See how it works for exactly what's built so far.
